Employee-Owned Wausau Supply Co. Invests $41 Million to Expand Manufacturing With New Michigan Facility
New 260,000-square-foot West Branch plant adds capacity to meet growing demand for building products, creating 92 new jobs
West Branch, Michigan (October 8, 2026): Wausau Supply Co., a 100% employee-owned manufacturer and distributor of building products, is expanding its manufacturing capabilities with a new 260,000-square-foot facility in West Branch, Michigan. The project represents a capital investment of at least $41 million and will add production capacity to meet growing demand from dealers, builders, and contractors across the company's national footprint.
The new facility will serve as a hub for advanced manufacturing and expands on Wausau Supply's existing operations in West Branch, where the company currently employs 108 people. The expansion is expected to create 92 new jobs, with starting wages of $22 per hour plus benefits.

Wausau Supply evaluated several locations for the expansion, including sites in Canada and at its Wisconsin headquarters, before selecting West Branch for its skilled workforce and strong regional partnerships for talent and recruitment. The project is supported by a $575,000 performance-based grant through the Michigan Business Development Program.
The investment is the latest step in a period of sustained growth for Wausau Supply. The company now operates more than 20 distribution centers and six manufacturing facilities.
